These 95 to 100 students, from more than thirty different schools, have committed themselves to the challenge of performing the masterworks of symphonic music. Motivated and guided by longtime RPYO Music Director Dr. David Harman, they attain a superb level of musical accomplishment.

Sponsored by the Education Department of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the RPYO provides opportunities for students to work closely with RPO musicians in coaching sessions and on the concert stage. Its students come from a six-county area in and around Rochester. They develop life-long habits of collaboration and purposeful commitment as they learn advanced ensemble performance skills.
