The RPYO Chamber Orchestra was established
in 1999
by RPYO Music Director David Harman for these purposes:
To give RPYO students the opportunity
to expand their musical repertoire and
ensemble experience by performing music written for smaller-scale
orchestras;
To enable RPYO students to learn
performance techniques associated generally
with music of the Baroque and Classical eras;
To provide these opportunities to interested students without
detracting from the primary purpose of the RPYO, which
is to perform large-scale
symphonic works for full orchestra.
The RPYO Chamber Orchestra rehearses
during the autumn months and presents one or two concerts in attractive,
intimate venues
in the
community
The RPYO Chamber Orchestra
past repertory has included:
Beethoven
Symphony No.1
Symphony No. 2
Corelli
Concerto Grosso No.6 No.8
Haydn
Symphony No. 104, “London”
Mozart
Overture to “Cosi fan tutti”
