A celebration of American composers Howard Hanson and Christopher Theofanidis with Rochester connections.
Hanson was a composer, conductor, educator, music theorist, champion of American classical music and long time director of the Eastman School of Music. Theofanidis’ Rainbow Body was described as having exuberant outbursts of pure diatonic splendor that are not so far removed from Copland’s “prairie” harmonies.
